History of Tixr

Over a decade ago, we bootstrapped this business with one goal: to fix a broken system. Since ticketing tech wasn’t keeping up with the rest of eCommerce, fans and organizers alike were paying the price.

So we built something better: a modern, flexible platform designed to handle real-world event complexity. Today, Tixr powers leading brands around the world, but our mission hasn’t changed—we’re here to solve legacy problems with smart tools and fan-first thinking.

History of Tixr

Ten years ago, we bootstrapped this business with one goal: to fix a broken system.

FEBRUARY

Tixr is founded in Santa Monica, California.

Two industry outsiders and lifelong event lovers set out to design a smarter system built for the pace and complexity of live events.

Unlike traditional ticketing companies, Tixr began with a fan-focused mindset, addressing what our founders saw as a fundamental problem: while live events were exceptional, the ticketing experience was not.

MAY

Tixr’s identity starts to take shape.

Early designs, product MVPs, and internal tools began to reflect the core principles behind our vision for live events ticketing: flexibility, control, and elevated experience.
