A sold-out warehouse, a record on-sale, and demand that kept coming long after tickets ran out. Here's how NPU Live stayed ahead of the curve for Big Game Weekend with Tixr Waitlist and Resale.
Each year, Big Game Weekend transforms its host city into one of the most concentrated live event environments of the year, and San Francisco was no exception. Across the Bay Area, more tickets were sold to the surrounding Tixr-powered parties this year than to the Super Bowl itself.
NPU Live showed up with a clear vision and the experience to execute it, debuting a series of shows (“The Lineup”) at venues across the city anchored by globally recognized headliners. Its marquee event, The Lineup at Pier 80, turned one of California's largest industrial spaces into the weekend's most popular concert destination. Demand was strong from the jump, with tickets moving in record time.
Selling out was just the beginning. The demand that outlasted the on-sale was just as valuable, and NPU Live had the tools to prove it with Tixr.

Selling Out One of California's Largest Venues
From music festivals to seasonal attractions, NPU Live builds events around the scale and character of the spaces they inhabit. Their flagship SF venue, The Midway, is a fixture of the city’s electronic music scene and longtime Tixr partner with decades of experience.
Just down the waterfront from The Midway sits Pier 80 Warehouse, one of the largest clear-span spaces in California. Its steel beams, open floor, and maritime grit make it one of the most distinctive live event spaces in the city. The Lineup filled the warehouse fast, marking NPU Live's fastest-selling presale and on-sale ever on Tixr and their highest ticket volume to date.
"The ticket-purchasing process was smooth for fans. I did not see a single complaint on social media about the checkout process." – Ian Molloy, Producer at NPU Live
It doesn't get more high-stakes than Big Game Weekend, and checkout was seamless. A record on-sale is the kind of milestone most operators would celebrate and move on from. NPU Live went a step further, activating Waitlist to capture remaining interest in the market.
Capturing & Converting Demand with Waitlist
Tixr Waitlist data painted a clear picture: verified demand was still out there, and there was plenty of it. With pre-authorized payment cards on file from fans ready to buy, NPU Live had the data they needed to confidently expand capacity, securing a permit from the city for a larger show.
Waitlist automatically converted that excess demand into confirmed tickets, bringing more fans through the doors without any manual effort from the team. Those orders ultimately accounted for 16% of total tickets fulfilled, revenue and attendance that would have otherwise been left behind.
“Waitlist is invaluable; we activate it for all events once they sell out. For this event, the waitlist allowed us to have more control of ticketing scaling.” – Ian Molloy, Producer at NPU Live
Waitlist gave fans who missed the on-sale an official path back in, converting genuine demand into confirmed attendance. For NPU Live, owning resale was the logical next step.
Native Resale to Own the Secondary Market
With the event sold out and at full capacity, the secondary market was always going to find a way to exist. Tixr’s native resale made sure it was on NPU Live's terms.
As Friday drew closer and the energy around the weekend built, resale was active and prices climbed naturally. Fans whose plans had changed had a legitimate place to sell, and those still looking had a verified place to buy, without the markups or fraud risk of outside platforms. The numbers backed it up: over 70% of resale tickets listed on Tixr were ultimately sold.
“Resale is an interesting feature with a tremendous upside for events that immediately sell out.” – Ian Molloy, Producer at NPU Live
When measured against the full secondary market, over 75% of total resale volume transacted directly on Tixr. NPU Live walked away with verified resale buyer data and a direct line to remarket to that audience for future shows.
"Our ticketing team loves the various Tixr tools, which is why we're migrating all new event series and venues over to Tixr." – Ian Molloy, Producer at NPU Live
On Friday night, Pier 80 delivered on every promise its scale implied. Lasers cut through smoke, familiar choruses echoed across the warehouse, and fans from across the country filled the space.
For most events, a sellout is the finish line. NPU Live treated it as a starting point, showing what happens when great production instincts meet the right tools. Waitlist quantified remaining demand and Resale kept it on their turf, leaving nothing on the table.
