Led by head coach Jim Moran, Rip City Remix launches its inaugural season at the Chiles Center on the University of Portland’s campus in North Portland this fall. Games will offer a family-friendly experience for fans at an accessible price point with the opportunity to witness some of the best upcoming talent in the NBA.
The name “Rip City Remix” is a nod to the ’70s when the Trail Blazers were born and embodies the team’s inventive spirit, reimagining something and making it new again — just like we’re taking on legacy ticketing with fresh eyes and creative solutions. Being an innovative incubator and redefining the ways in which a sports organization operates is central to the team’s ethos, as well as ours. We’re thrilled to be able to extend the Remix’s reach and streamline purchasing for fans with our modern UX and digitally-driven ticketing solutions.
“This is an exciting day for Rip City and the next chapter in Trail Blazers basketball,” said Portland Trail Blazers President of Business Operations Dewayne Hankins. “We are thrilled to launch this team in the North Portland community, with a name and brand inspired by our fans, culture and region. Rip City Remix games will be fun, family friendly, and accessible, and we look forward to seeing you on the court this upcoming season.”
Core to Rip City Remix’s mission will be positively impacting underserved kids and their families in the local community, just as the Trail Blazers organization has throughout Oregon and Southwest Washington. As similar believers in accessible experiences, we’ll complement that rich history of corporate and community service excellence via a localized community give back initiative and courtside seat upgrade program for the Remix.
“Since our initial encounter with the Remix leadership team, a profound commitment to innovation has pervaded our discussions. However, it’s important to note that this dedication to innovation isn’t merely for the sake of it; rather, it aims to elevate the fan experience,” said Nate Liberman, VP of Sports at Tixr.
“We sincerely appreciate having Remix as a partner, as it enables us to not only leverage the foundation we have built at Tixr but also fosters an environment of continual incubation and innovative improvement. Much like how the G League prepares its athletes for the NBA, we are thrilled to contribute to shaping the future of the fan experience.”
